Palmeiras and Bolivar are locked on 12 points in Copa Libertadores Group C ahead of their Matchday 6 meeting at Allianz Parque later this week.

Both sides have won four and lost one of their five matches so far, while already-eliminated Barcelona SC and Cerro Porteno find themselves joint bottom.

Bolivar currently lead the way thanks to their superior goal difference, but Palmeiras will be confident of topping the group by picking up a positive result on home soil.

Palmeiras head into Matchday 6 on the back of successive 1-0 defeats, having fallen to Bahia and Botafogo in the Brazilian top flight.

As a result, they have slipped to fourth in the Serie A table – eight points behind first-placed Botafogo – after taking 22 points from a possible 36.

Palmeiras began their Copa Libertadores campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Bolivar. Since then, however, the Brazilian outfit have secured four straight wins.

Having avoided defeat in 15 of their last 17 Libertadores outings – including eight unbeaten home games – Palmeiras will fancy their chances of triumphing on Matchday 6.

As for Bolivar, they claimed a 3-1 victory over Real Santa Cruz last time out, meaning they head into this clash on a five-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Bolivian outfit have lost just one of their previous eight matches, securing five victories in the process.

After defeating Palmeiras in their opening Libertadores clash, Bolivar suffered a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona SC before notching three consecutive wins.

Having kept a clean sheet in each of their previous three Libertadores matches, Bolivar will be determined to finish the group stage on a high.

Head-to-head: Palmeiras and Bolivar have face each other three times in the Copa Libertadores, with the Brazilian winning twice and the Bolivians winning once.

Palmeiras posted a 7-1 aggregate victory over Bolivar during the 2020 edition of the tournament, but Bolivar gained their revenge earlier this year.

Team news: Palmeiras look set to be without the injured trio of Murilo, Marcos Rocha and Eduard Atuesta for the foreseeable future.

On the flip side, Bolivar have reported no injury problems ahead of Matchday 6, meaning manager Benat San Jose has a full-strength squad at his disposal.

Although Bolivar got the better of Palmeiras on Matchday 1, the Brazilian outfit are expected to make amends this time around.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at Allianz Parque. However, Palmeiras will likely net over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.
