They have been in poor league form of late, as they head into this clash on the back of three defeats in their last four Allsvenskan matches.
A 3-0 loss at Hacken last time out means that they have conceded at least two goals in all three recent defeats, having also failed to score in any of the losses.
Mjallby’s recent home record in the Swedish top flight has also been unconvincing, as they have won just one of their last four league games on home soil. That run includes failing to score in three of the four home matches.
The visitors are in good form ahead of this clash, as they are unbeaten in four matches in the Allsvenskan, having recorded three wins and a draw. Last time out, they recorded a 2-1 home win over Degerfors.
The result continued a trend of fairly high-scoring league games for Kalmar, as five of their previous seven matches in the Allsvenskan have produced over 2.5 goals.
Kalmar is currently in fourth place in the table, seven points adrift of Hacken, who occupy the last European qualification berth.
If the visitors are to break into the top three, then their results away from home need to improve, as Kalmar has won just two of their previous eight league matches on the road.
