Bodoe/Glimt’s runaway lead at the top of the league was cut into last weekend, as Stroemgodset pulled off a shock 2-0 win.
Viking are chasing Bodoe/Glimt and go into the weekend 11 points behind the league leaders. However, Viking do have a game in hand over Bodoe.
Viking go into round No 13 on a two-game winning streak. Last weekend, the Dark Blues defeated Brann 3-1.
The victory followed a 3-1 win over Sarpsborg 08. Viking FK picked up 12 points from the last 18 points on offer. They are in form going into the weekend.
Valerenga IF are 13th in the 16-team league. They haven’t had a good start to the campaign and are in poor form. Valerenga lost their last three Eliteserien games. They are in relegation trouble in the early stages of the season.
Jan Frode Nornes is the club’s interim manager. He took over on June 12 after Dag-Eilev Fagermo was sacked by the club’s hierarchy.
So far, Nornes hasn’t been able to turn Valerenga around. He will hope Saturday’s home match against Viking will end their current three-game losing streak.
Enga took seven points from the last 18 points on offer. They posted a –1-goal difference during that time, scoring nine goals and conceding eight times.
Despite Valerenga’s poor form in the Eliteserien, there is hope they can pull off a win at home over Viking.

Captain Zlatko Tripic leads Viking in goals with six. The left wing scored twice against Brann a week ago. Striker Lars-Jorgen Salvesen added a third goal in the team’s 3-1 win. Salvesen has three goals this term.
Viking are scoring goals for fun. Despite their poor head-to-head record in recent seasons against Valerenga, Viking FK should post a win on Saturday. Like their last two matches, Viking should win by a score of 3-1.
