It’s the first leg of two in the Serie C promotion play-offs final this week with Foggia and Lecco set to clash at the Stadio Pino Zaccheria off the back of both sides winning their semi-final battles on penalties.

Foggia would finish fourth in Group C of Serie C this season with an impressive record of 44 goals let in from 38 games.

They did, however, win just 18 games and lose 13 and no side in the top six of Group C lost more.

They also bagged 60 goals, which was only bettered by US Catanzaro's stunning record of 102 goals.

Lecco finished third in Group A as they won one less game but claimed one more point and conceded four fewer goals.

At the same time, however, they bagged just 45 of their own but lost just 10 games.

Lecco would defeat Pordenone on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the promotion play-offs after a 1-0 loss at home before their 3-1 win on the road against Pordenone that saw Francesco Ardizzone and Cristian Bunino score a goal each alongside an own goal.

Prior to this, the club also defeated Ancona on away goals after a 2-2 draw away from home before a 1-1 result back on home soil.

In the semi-finals, however, they only narrowly edged past Cesena on penalties after winning 1-0 away from home when Nicolo Buso scored.

They lost 2-1 in the first leg of that semi-final and it now means just one clean sheet from the six games so far in the play-off battles.

As for Foggia, they also progressed into this final on penalties after a 2-2 draw at home and away to Pescara in the semi-finals.

In the last outing on the road, Alberto Rizzo scored in the 97th minute of the game to take the match into extra time before Toni Markic scored five minutes before penalties.

Foggia edged past Crotone as well in a 3-2 aggregate win following on from a 1-0 victory at home in that two-legged affair where Diego Peralta scored in the second half. A 2-2 draw would come in the second leg as well.

Foggia managed to defeat Audace Cerignola on away goals as well after a sensational comeback win. The club lost 4-1 at home that day before a 3-0 victory away from home overturned a three-goal deficit.

Forebet predicts a win for Foggia and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
