Istanbulspor go into the match in good form despite their league position. The team is unbeaten in five straight Super Lig matches. Each of Istanbulspor’s last two games ended in wins. Istanbulspor are seven points clear of the bottom three in the Super Lig.
Galatasaray won the reverse fixture against Istanbulspor by a 2-1 score. Bafetimbi Gomis scored twice in the opening half to put Galatasaray up 2-0. Istanbulspor pulled a goal back in the 82nd-minute courtesy of Mehmet Yesil. It was as close as the team could get.
The Cimbom took 13 points from the last 18 points on offer in the Super Lig. They scored 17 times and conceded seven goals to their opponents. Galatasaray are the Super Lig’s second-best away team, with 32 points from 15 games. They lost two of their last three road matches.
Istanbulspor will hope Galatasaray’s recent blip on the road will continue. The Bulls collected 11 points from the last 18 points on offer. They posted a +4-goal difference, with 13 goals scored and nine conceded.
The Bulls are unbeaten in three straight home matches. However, they have a record of just 5W-3D-7L this season at home.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk will be without defender Sacha Boey due to a suspension. Midfielder Berkan Kutlu is ruled out with a groin injury. The Cimbom are led in goals by ex-Inter and ex-PSG player Mauro Icardi. The Argentine has 15 goals.
Istanbulspor manager Fatih Tekke will be without defender Simon Deli. Deli will sit out the game due to a suspension. Macedonian player Valon Ethemi leads Istanbulspor in scoring with 12 goals this season. He is currently in the Super Lig top-10 goalscoring charts. Ethemi has 32% of Istanbulspor’s scoring.
Galatasaray won the reverse fixture at home 2-1 thanks to a Gomis double. The Cimbom should post a second 2-1 win over an in-form Istanbulspor side. The win will send Galatasaray one step closer to the league title.
