HJK Helsinki are top of the Finnish Veikkausliiga table, with 13 points from their opening six matches. Two points separate HJK from second-place SJK in the standings ahead of Tuesday’s league match versus FC KTP.
KTP are down the table in 10th place. The Green and White were promoted to the Veikkausliiga before this season kicked off. They struggled in the early stages of the campaign, collecting four points from the opening five matches. KTP scored just four goals across their five fixtures, conceding eight times.

HJK and KTP have not met since the 2021 Veikkausliiga season. The Helsinki club won all three matches that season by a combined score of 9-1. KTP were relegated from the first division at the end of the campaign.
The Helsinki team went unbeaten in their opening five matches of the season before losing on matchday No 6 to KuPS 2-1. HJK have only conceded three times this season. They conceded two-thirds of their goals this season against KuPS.
Tuesday’s match at Kotka will be the third away match of the season for HJK. The team previously defeated VPS 1-0 away, but their most recent road match was the 2-1 defeat to KuPS.
FC KTP picked up four points from their opening six matches. The Green and White are on a two-match losing streak ahead of Tuesday’s home match against the league leaders. They were outscored 5-2 in their last two matches in the league.
All four of FC KTP’s points have come at home. The team is unbeaten in their last two matches at the Arto Tolsa Areena. Despite being in decent form at home, KTP were outscored 3-2 in their home fixtures by opponents.
HJK go into the match with a league-high 11 goals scored. Bojan Radulovic leads the team in goals with five. He has accounted for 45% of HJK’s scoring. Kai Meriluoto has two goals. Neither HJK player has scored away from home this season.
KTP’s Mika has two of the team’s four goals. The Spaniard will hope to get onto the scoresheet once more for KTP, as they bid to defeat league-leading HJK at home.
HJK Helsinki are the reigning Veikkausliiga champions. They have won the league more times than any other Finnish team (32). The Klubi should post another win over KTP, their sixth straight, as they remain in first place.
The Klubi should roll to victory with a 3-0 score at the end of the fixture. Radulovic or Meriluoto could get onto the scoresheet away from home for the first time.
