Arsenal will look to reclaim top spot in the Premier League table when they entertain London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Following a series of negative results, the Gunners have slipped to second in the standings, allowing Manchester City to take a one-point lead at the summit.

That said, Chelsea are also in poor form at the moment, with Frank Lampard’s side falling to 12th place – six points shy of the top half.

Arsenal head into Tuesday’s clash on a four-match winless run in the Premier League, having taken just three points from a possible 12 since their last victory

Following draws with Liverpool, West Ham United and Southampton, the Gunners suffered a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Man City last time out, relinquishing top spot.

It is also worth noting that Arsenal have only managed to win three of their previous nine matches across all competitions, highlighting their recent struggles.

That said, Mikel Arteta’s men have lost just four of their 33 Premier League clashes this season, so they will be hopeful of returning to winning ways against struggling Chelsea.

The Blues enter Tuesday’s showdown on a five-game losing streak in all competitions, with two Champions League defeats to Real Madrid coming in that time.

Worse still, Chelsea have failed to win any of their last eight outings, recording two draws and six losses along the way.

Believe it or not, Chelsea have also failed to score in six of their previous seven matches, underlining their struggles in attack.

With a solitary victory coming in their last 13 away games across all competitions, the Blues won’t find it easy to turn the tide at the Emirates.

Head-to-head: Not only have Arsenal won each of their last two meetings with Chelsea, but they have also won five of the previous six.

The Blues have only managed to win three of their last 10 matches against the Gunners in all competitions, suffering six defeats in the process.

Team news: Arsenal will be without the injured trio of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohamed Elneny and William Saliba on Tuesday.

On the flip side, Chelsea’s injury list contains Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Mason Mount and Armando Broja.

Although Arsenal have stuttered in recent weeks, Arteta’s men shouldn’t struggle to heap more misery on off-form Chelsea.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Arsenal will score over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Chelsea.
