Liverpool are winless in four straight Premier League games ahead of Everton’s visit on Monday night. The Toffees will make the less than one-mile trek to Anfield from Goodison Park with high hopes of picking up a rare win.

Seach Dyche did the unthinkable last weekend, as he led Everton to a 1-0 win over league leaders Arsenal. The performance was fantastic from Everton with Dyche getting a top-level performance out of a squad that failed consistently under Frank Lampard.

Everton’s tactics won’t be a secret. He will pack in the defence with 11 men behind the ball for most of the match. The Toffees clogged up the middle of the pitch against Arsenal forcing the Londoners to play down the wings.

Dyche’s tactics resulted in Arsenal struggling to cut open a defence that had previously been ravaged to the tune of 28 goals. Don’t expect Dyche to do anything different against Liverpool.

Everton go into the game in 18th place but could emerge from the relegation zone with a win and results going their way. With Liverpool’s poor recent form, the Toffees and their fans will expect a victory.

Liverpool took just seven points from their last 18 points on offer in the league. The Reds have little to look forward to this season although the top six is just five points away. Jurgen Klopp is desperate to get the team in form and fit to make a run at the Champions League, which restarts this month.

Goalscoring has been a major problem for Liverpool. Just six goals were scored by the Reds. In years past, the attack made up for the defence’s weaknesses. However, this season, the attack isn’t threatening opposing teams, allowing opponents to go at the weak defence.

Liverpool play better at home than on the road with a record of six wins, three draws, and one defeat. Everton have won a mere one game on the road and have a record of one win, four draws, and five losses.

The reverse fixture ended nil-nil although Everton had the better chances. A Conor Coady goal was chalked off by VAR for offside.

Dyche is hoping the often-injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be fit after suffering another leg injury. Defender Michael Keane is unlikely to feature following a knee injury.

The out-of-form Fabinho could be fit but may only make the bench following an illness. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, Ibrahima Konate, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota are all ruled out at the time of writing.

Liverpool are playing well at home despite their overall form. They are unbeaten in three straight matches at Anfield. Monday’s game won’t be pretty, but the Reds should pull off a 1-0 win.
