Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd Stadium will host the Supercoppa Italiana showdown between arch-rivals AC Milan and Internazionale on Wednesday night.
Milan booked their place in the Supercoppa Italiana by winning the 2021-22 Serie A title, while Inter punched their ticket to the showpiece by winning last season’s Coppa Italia.

Inter are the reigning Supercoppa Italiana champions, having defeated Juventus last year. That said, fourth-place Inter trail second-place Milan by one point in the current Serie A table.
Milan head into Wednesday’s showdown on the back of a 2-2 draw against Leece in Serie A, coming from two goals down to rescue a point in the second half.
Thanks to that draw, Stefano Pioli’s side have avoided defeat in each of their last six league outings – securing three wins and three draws.
When you look at the bigger picture, Milan have won seven of their previous 11 Serie A encounters and have only suffered two losses in 18 league games this season.
Although the Rossoneri suffered a shock Coppa Italia last-16 exit at the hands of Torino last weekend, they are expected to rise to the occasion on Wednesday.
As for Inter, they claimed a 1-0 league victory over Hellas Verona last time out – thanks to Lautaro Martinez’s third-minute strike.
Simone Inzaghi’s men are currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak in the Serie A, having claimed four wins and one draw since their last loss.
It is also worth pointing out that Inter have won eight of their previous ten league games, after winning four and losing four of their opening eight.
Having scored over 1.5 goals in seven of their last ten Serie A games – and over 2.5 goals in four of their previous eight – the Nerazzurri are in fine form in front of goal.
Head-to-head: The first and only Supercoppa Italiana meeting between Milan and Inter came back in 2011, with the Rossoneri defeating the Nerazzurri 2-1 on that occasion.
Across the past ten meetings in all competitions, Inter have claimed five wins and Milan won three times. The other two games ended in a draw.
Team news: Milan will be without the injured quartet of Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Fode Ball-Toure on Wednesday.
Inter currently have Samir Handanovic and Dalbert sidelined due to injury, while Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic and Denzel Dumfries are also doubts.
The Derby della Madonnina invariably dishes up drama, so Wednesday’s clash is destined to be a dramatic encounter between two fierce rivals.
