Ligue 1 will relegate four teams this season, as the league is reduced to 18 clubs rather than 20. It is paramount that Nantes pick up points to move away from the drop.
Lyon are eighth in the standings and nine points off the European qualification places. Les Gones are in decent form, however. Manager Laurent Blanc saw the team pick up 10 points from the last 18 points on offer in the division.

Nantes took seven points from the last six games as results improved. Despite the team’s poor form this season, manager Antoine Kombouaré has kept his job. He may be living on the credit provided by winning the Coupe de France last season.
The Canaries continue to struggle to score goals. Just five goals were scored across the team’s last six games. Five goals were also conceded by Nantes in the last six games.
Nantes play their best football at home. They have posted 13 points from eight games this season and are unbeaten in five straight matches at the Beaujoire Stadium.
Although Nantes are playing well at home, Lyon are on a five-game winning streak against them in all competitions.
Blanc could be without four players due to injuries. Midfielder Corentin Tolisso, defenders Henrique and Malo Gusto, and Goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck are all doubts to make the squad.
Nantes will be without midfielder Samuel Moutoussamy due to a red-card suspension. Midfielder Pedro Chirivella is a doubt due to a knee injury. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Denis Petric is a doubt with a hip injury.
