Montpellier will be aiming to build on a magnificent 5-0 win over Rodez last week in a club friendly with the club hoping to take that form into Ligue 1 with them sitting down in 14th in the table before their journey to the Stade du Moustoir where Lorient are still fighting in the European spots.
Just like last campaign, Lorient have been fantastic to watch this season and they continue to stun France with their excellent runs of form.

In fact, only once this season has the club gone more than two games without winning a match and they remain in fifth before the action resumes in France’s top flight.

Lorient, however, won just one of their three games, as the club drew 1-1 with Osasuna before a 1-0 loss to Guingamp.
They eventually returned to the win column with a victory over 15th-placed Nantes in a friendly, which will help their cause in getting a win over 14th-placed Montpellier.
Lorient are still only two points adrift of Marseille in fourth, and they remain only three points behind third-placed Rennes. On the other hand, they are behind Lens in second by eight points.
Ahead of this one, Régis Le Bris’ side have secured eight victories so far and lost only three times in the league. Montpellier did, however, defeat Rodez 5-0 last time out in a friendly to give them great confidence for this game.
Montpellier have still managed to win four league games so far, which is the most inside the bottom half of the table.
Given the contrasting bouts of form before the World Cup break and how Montpellier sit with half the points of Lorient's tally, it is no doubt going to be a tough game for the away side.
What's more, Lorient have lost only once at home this season with their other two defeats coming on the road, so Montpellier will have to overturn the odds quite dramatically.
Forebet predicts a victory for Lorient in this one and for the game to see over 2.5 goals, as Lorient also have the worst defensive record for those sitting in the top five European spots.
