Another Routine Win Expected for Porto Against Vizela

Porto are back in action for another Taca da Liga match up before a return to Primeira Liga action at the end of December with the Portuguese giants set to welcome Vizela to the Estádio do Dragão after a sensational run of form during the World Cup that has seen them drop points just once.

Unlike most leagues and domestic competitions, action in Portugal has continued during the World Cup and it has seen Porto continue to impress once again.

The club are sitting second in the Primeira Liga, but with them managing to beat Boavista just before the break in action 4-1, they remain unbeaten since way back in mid-October when they lost a must-win battle to rivals Benfica at home.

Porto returned to action after 13 days out when they played hosts to Mafra in the first group stage match of the Taca da liga. With many names on international duty, Pepe and Toni Martinez bagged goals each in that game, as quite incredibly, Porto went two goals down inside the first half.

A two-week break would come next before Porto eased past Chaves away from home thanks to two goals from Danny Loader in the second half, as he netted two goals inside four minutes of one another.

Now that they sit top of their group by four points with them being the only team to win in Group A of the Taca da Liga, attention will fall to Primeira Liga action for Sérgio Conceição's men pretty soon.

Vizela, however, are unbeaten in the Taca da Liga and have a chance to upset the odds and head into first place in Group A with a win over Porto. At the same time, despite lostint to Vitoria SC in the fourth round of the Taca de Portugal, Vizela have not lost a game in the past month of action.

The run started with an impressive win over Pacos Ferreira that saw them climb further away from the relegation zone and send Ferreira deeper into the relegation spots.

Vizela drew 2-2 with Chaves in the first Taca da Liga games, as Friday Ubi Etim and Raphael Guzzo scored a goal each, although the club did concede a goal in the 93rd minute and eventually drew the game.
