Lyon are eighth in the Ligue 1 standings. A strong start for Lyon was followed by a dip in form but manager Laurent Blanc has corrected the ship. Blanc joined the club in October after manager Peter Bosz was sacked.
Nice and Lyon split their last six matches down the middle three wins apiece. In 2021-22, the home team won both Ligue 1 fixtures. Lyon picked up a 2-0 home win, while Nice won 3-2 at the Allianz Riviera.
The Eagles are coming off a 1-0 win against Brest thanks to a goal from Gaetan Laborde. He now has three Ligue 1 goals this season. Andy Delort leads Nice in scoring with five goals. Forward Sofiane Diop has three assists this term to lead the team.
Lyon are coming off a 1-0 loss to Marseille in Ligue 1. The team is led in goals by forward Alexandre Lacazette with eight goals. The former Arsenal striker is third in the league in scoring.
Lyon are Ligue 1’s third-best home team. They have a record of 5W-1D-1L with a goal difference of +10. Nice have an away record of 3W-2D-2L with eight goals for and seven against on the road. They are unbeaten in back-to-back matches away from the Allianz Riviera.
Favre will be without backup goalkeeper Marcin Bulka following a shoulder injury. Bulka is the only player out of action for Nice.
Lyon also have one player on the injury list. Backup goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck will miss the match following knee surgery.
Blanc uses a two-striker formation with Lacazette and Moussa Dembele. The pairing has worked since his arrival. Lyon scored 22 goals in their opening 14 fixtures. Three of their last five games ended with both teams scoring.
Ligue 1 saw 64% of matches end with both teams scoring before round No. 15 this weekend. Lyon and Nice should both find the back of the net, as the Ligue 1 rivals finish 1-1 at the Groupama Stadium. Nice will continue their excellent unbeaten run in the process.
