Napoli host Sassuolo on Saturday at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Serie A, as they seek an eighth straight league win. The Partenopei are in fine form ahead of the match against Sassuolo this weekend.

Luciano Spalletti’s team are first in Serie A but just three points ahead of second-place AC Milan.

Milan are not giving up ground and Napoli must continue to win to keep the Rossoneri at bay. AC Milan will face Torino on Sunday night and Napoli can put pressure on the reigning champions.

Sassuolo are ninth in Serie A after 11 matches. The Neroverdi won three of their last six games, picking up nine points from 18 points available. Six points currently separate Sassuolo from the top six.

Napoli played well against Sassuolo in the teams’ last six head-to-head encounters. The Naples club went unbeaten in five of the last six matches. Last season, the clubs drew 2-2 at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium before Napoli won 6-1 in the reverse fixture at home.

The Partenopei are unbeaten at home this season with four wins and a draw. They are +8 in home goals with 12 for and four against.

Sassuolo picked up five points from five games on the road this season. They scored just four goals while conceding seven times away from the Mapei Stadium. Sassuolo lost five of their last six games in Naples against Napoli.

Summer signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leads Napoli in Serie A goals with six. Napoli were criticised ahead of the season for not resigning Lorenzo Insigne and selling Kalidou Koulibaly. However, Kvaratskhelia has helped fans move on, as the team was rebuilt.

Spalletti has no fresh injury issues and will be able to select from a fully fit squad. He could start striker Giovanni Simeone.

The striker scored twice in the Champions League in midweek against Rangers. However, Spalletti has options and could start Victor Osimhen instead.

Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi has more injury issues than Spalletti. He is waiting on the fitness of Domenico Berardi, the team’s talisman.

Berardi could miss the game with a knock. Forward Gregoire Defrel has a foot injury and is out of action. Right-back Murt Muldur is also out with an ankle injury.

Napoli have a strong record against Sassuolo in Serie A. The Partenopei should keep their strong form going with a win at home.

The match should finish 2-1 as Sassuolo put a scare into the league leaders. Ultimately, Spalletti will make the right moves to see Napoli to the win. Serie A has had 43% of matches won by the home team ahead of round 12.
