On Thursday night, Shamrock Rovers hosts Gent at the Tallaght Stadium in Group F of the Europa Conference League.
The Irish team may be on the cusp of winning the Premier Division title, but their European form has been poor this season. They currently sit bottom of Group F, having taken just one point from their four group games.

Even a win in this clash wouldn’t stop Rovers from suffering elimination from their third UEFA competition of the season.
They can still reach the same number of points as second-place Molde. However, the Norwegian outfit has beaten Rovers twice in the competition, which means they have the superior head-to-head record in the group.
The home team’s poor record in the Europa Conference League has not just started this season, though, as they are now winless in six games in the competition, having suffered five defeats in the run.
Shamrock has also failed to win in their last three home games in the Europa Conference League while failing to score too.
The visitors are currently in third place in the group on four points, three points behind second-place Molde in the race to qualify for the knockout rounds.
Gent could still qualify for the last 32, but they would have to win both of their previous two games and hope that Molde slips up. Their final group game is against the Norwegian team, however.
The Belgian team have a poor recent record in the Europa Conference League, as they have lost four of their previous six games in the competition.
They have also failed to win in their last four away games in the Europa Conference League while failing to score in three of the winless games.
