Marseille are unbeaten in three straight matches versus Angers in Ligue 1. On Friday night, the two teams will kick off the weekend in Ligue 1 after the international break.

Olympique are second in the Ligue 1 table. Manager Igor Tudor has Marseille in a title fight in the French top flight. Marseille are two points off first-place Paris Saint-Germain. A win on Friday would send Olympique to the top of the table.

Angers’ recent uptick in form has them out of the bottom four. The Black and White are on a two-match winning streak in Ligue 1, and two points above the relegation zone.

Ligue 1 will automatically relegate three teams to Ligue 2 at the end of the season. A fourth team will play in the relegation-promotion playoff, as Ligue 1 restructures to just 18 top-flight teams.

Marseille are top of the form table with 16 points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. Olympique drew 1-1 with Rennes last time out, ending a five-match winning streak. Marseille outscored their last six opponents 11-3.

Angers failed to win their opening six games of the season. However, the Black and White are unbeaten in their last two fixtures in Ligue 1. Angers were outscored 16-7 in their last six fixtures, but they are improving under manager Gerald Baticle.

Marseille went unbeaten in 12 of the last 13 Ligue 1 matches against Angers. Olympique went to the Raymond Kopa Stadium last season and drew nil-nil before winning the reverse fixture at the Stade Velodrome 5-2 in February.

Baticle has two players on the injury list ahead of the weekend. Forward Lois Diony is ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury. Midfielder Ulrick Eneme-Ella has a knee injury and is out until October.

Tudor will be without defender Nuno Tavares due to being banned. Defender Eric Bailly has a thigh injury and is out until October.

Alexis Sanchez leads Marseille in goals with four this season. Olympique have scored 16 times this season in Ligue 1, while allowing Ligue 1’s second-fewest goals after eight matches with just five.

Angers allowed the second-most goals after eight fixtures. The Black and White allowed 18 goals to opponents. The team scored nine goals in the opening eight matches of the season.

Marseille should post a second straight win against Angers in Ligue 1. The victory will send Marseille to the top of the league for at least 24 hours. Olympique should post a 3-1 win away from home.
