Having already suffered UEFA Nations League relegation, England will attempt to restore some pride when they welcome Germany to Wembley on Monday night.

As we head into the sixth and final matchday, the Three Lions find themselves rock bottom of Group A3 after failing to pick up a single Nations League victory this year.

Meanwhile, Germany sit third – four points clear of England. However, Hansi Flick’s side are two points behind Italy and four points behind surprise leaders Hungary.

England were beaten 1-0 by Italy last time out, despite enjoying the lion’s share of possession and registering 14 shots.

Remarkably, Gareth Southgate’s men have failed to win any of their Nations League games this year – recording two draws and three losses.

To make matters worse for England, they have scored a solitary goal across their five Nations League clashes this year.

The Three Lions enjoyed a nine-game unbeaten streak after Euro 2020. However, they head into Monday’s clash on a five-game winless run.

As for Germany, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hungary last time out – despite racking up 73% possession and ten shots.

The Germans have only managed to win one of their five Nations League clashes this year, recording three draws and one loss along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, German have won just one of their previous six outings across all competitions – although they have picked up four draws in the process.

It is also worth noting that six of Germany’s past seven games in all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals.

Head-to-head: The overall head-to-head record between England and Germany is tight, with 15 Germany wins, 14 England wins and five draws.

That said, England have only managed to win two of their previous seven meetings with the Germans – recording two draws and three defeats in that time.

Team news: England manager Southgate is expected to shuffle his pack on Monday and could hand an international debut to Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

With Germany centre-back Antonio Rudiger suspended, Thilo Kehrer and Matthias Ginter look set to battle it out for a spot in Flick’s starting XI.

Given England’s struggles of late, Germany look set to claim all three points on Monday – piling more pressure on Southgate and his players.

Forebet predicts that Germany will claim a low-scoring victory over England, netting under 1.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
