On Monday night, Real Valladolid hosts Almeria at the Power Horse Stadium as the home team looks for their first La Liga win of the season.

The Albivioletas have made a poor return to the Spanish top-flight this season after winning promotion. Pacheta’s team has claimed just one point from their opening three matches of the new La Liga campaign.

A 4-0 mauling at Barcelona last time out means that Real Valladolid has lost six of their previous seven league matches, dating back to their last spell in La Liga. They have also failed to win in 15 matches in the Spanish top flight.
During their recent poor run, Real Valladolid’s main issue has been weak defensive displays, as they have conceded at least two goals in six of their last seven matches in La Liga.
They have also failed to win any of their previous seven home games in the Spanish top-flight, having suffered three straight league defeats on home soil.
Like Real Valladolid, Almeria won promotion from the Segunda last season. However, the visitors have made a slightly better return to the Spanish top-flight, picking up four points from their three league matches this season.
They kicked off the campaign with a 2-1 home defeat by reigning champions Real Madrid before a 1-1 draw against Elche and a 2-1 win over Sevilla last time out. Almeria will be looking to build on the win last time out, which ended a seven-game winless run for the visitors in La Liga.
The draw at Elche extended Almeria’s winless streak in La Liga to eight games. However, the draw ended a seven-match losing streak on their travels in the Spanish top flight.
Forebet predicts that Almeria will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter to extend Real Valladolid’s poor start to the league campaign.
