Serie A dishes up a mouthwatering Milan derby on Saturday, with AC Milan and Inter Milan going head-to-head at the iconic San Siro.
Milan have made an unbeaten start to the season, picking up two wins and two draws. However, they find themselves one point behind Inter.
On the flip side, Inter have registered three wins and one loss so far. As a result, they sit one point behind first-place Roma in the Serie A standings.
Milan kicked off their campaign with a thumping 4-2 victory over Udinese before registering a 1-1 draw with Atalanta.
Following a 2-0 win against Bologna on Matchday 3, Milan were held to a goalless draw by Sassuolo last time out.
Thanks to a strong end to the previous campaign, the reigning champions head into Matchday 5 on a 20-game unbeaten streak in Serie A.
When you look at the bigger picture, Milan have suffered a solitary defeat in the last 24 league encounters.
As for Inter, they kicked off the new campaign with back-to-back wins over Lecce (1-2) and Spezia (3-0) before losing 3-1 to Lazio.
However, they returned to winning ways last time out – beating Cremonese 3-1 after racking up 18 shots on home soil.
Like Milan, Inter ended the previous campaign on a high note. Consequently, they have avoided defeat in 30 of their past 34 Serie A outings.
Given that both teams have scored in each of Inter’s last six away games in Serie A, we should see goals at both ends on Saturday.
Head-to-head: Inter have enjoyed plenty of success in this fixture in recent years, losing just two of their last 12 league meetings with Milan.
Since nine of the previous 13 Serie A meetings between Milan and Inter have produced over 2.5 goals, we are likely to see a high-scoring clash this time around.
Team news: Milan are currently without the injured trio of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rade Krunic and Alessandro Florenzi.
Inter also have three injury absentees at the moment, with Romelu Lukaku, Dalbert and Gabriel Brazao on the sidelines.
Although Milan snatched the title from Inter last season, there is no hiding the fact that Inter have had the upper hand in the majority of recent Derby della Madonnina clashes.
With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Inter will claim all three points on Saturday. Both teams are likely to score, but Inter are expected to come out on top.
