Wednesday night brings us midweek action from the Premier League and features this upcoming clash between Bournemouth and Wolves at the Vitality Stadium with both teams languishing in the lower reaches of the early English top flight table and both keen to add to their points tally here.

An opening day 2-0 home win over Aston Villa brought Bournemouth early hope upon their return to the Premier League after last season’s promotion from the Championship.

But The Cherries have once again found out the harsh realities of the top flight as the hosts have lost their last three games on the trot.

Defeats to Manchester City 4-0, Arsenal 3-0 and a 9-0 humiliation at Anfield against Liverpool have not only been an unkind opening fixture schedule for the south coast club, but has also resulted in Bournemouth conceding 16 goals in the process.

With just three wins from their last 16 games in the Premier League, Bournemouth look to have their work cut out on Wednesday night as they look to cope without the services of defender, Fredericks, midfielders, Pearson, Rothwell and Stanislas, along with the continued absence of David Brooks.

Wolves grabbed a worthy point away at Newcastle United on the weekend by virtue of a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park.

But in the end they were lucky not to lose the game as Newcastle came on strong towards the end of the match.

Nevertheless, Wolves managed to hang on for just their second point of the season to date in what has been a slow and disappointing start to this new Premier League campaign for Bruno Lage’s side.

Defeats to Leeds United and Tottenham have resulted in Wolves sitting in the early relegation zone, occupying second from bottom but the visitors will fancy their chances of getting something out of Wednesday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Influential midfielder and captain, Ruben Neves, scored another thunderbolt on the weekend and will look to inspire his side again for this midweek clash down on the south coast.

Forward, Chiquinho, is still sidelined through injury while forward, Neto, is rated doubtful for this encounter after a heavy challenge against Newcastle United.

Wolves are unbeaten in their last four meetings against Bournemouth (W2, D2) and the west midlands club look to possess greater quality than their hosts in this upcoming clash at the Vitality Stadium, so the visitors look the more likely for the spoils in this one.
