Brighton and Leeds United will meet at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday afternoon with both teams having made encouraging starts to this new Premier League campaign and both clubs sitting on seven points apiece after the opening three games of the new term.

Looking at Brighton’s early campaign first, and The Seagulls started the new season with an impressive 2-1 win away from home at Old Trafford against Manchester United to get the south coast club off to an excellent start and Graham Potter’s men have continued that early success.

A 0-0 draw at home with a fast-improving Newcastle United outfit was followed by last weekend’s 2-0 win away from home at West Ham, thus proving that Brighton’s result away at Manchester United was no fluke.

The bigger picture paints an even rosier outlook for Brighton as the hosts have now suffered just the one defeat out of their last 12 matches in the English top flight which understandably came in the form of a 3-0 loss away at Manchester City but they have also picked up seven wins and four draws in the process as well.

Results on home soil though have been fairly tentative as Brighton have won just two of their previous 11 home games, which also includes five stalemates.

Midfielder, Moder, and forward, Sarmiento, are expected to be missing due to injuries.

Leeds United have also made a promising start to this new Premier League season as they also sit on seven points after their opening three league games following wins against Wolves and Chelsea, along with a draw with Southampton.

Victories over Wolves 2-1 (on the opening day of the season) and an even more impressive 3-0 home win over Chelsea last weekend have given Jesse Marsch’s side an early and very welcome boost after the dramas of avoiding relegation at the end of last season.

Leeds have shown renewed resilience and character under Marsch and this is evident when looking at the Yorkshire club’s results overall in the bigger picture as the the visitors have lost just three of their last 13 matches in the top flight.

This sequence of results include six wins and four draws as well, one of which was a 1-1 draw at Elland Road against Saturday’s opponents, Brighton, back in mid-May of last season.

The team news for Leeds United shows defending trio, Ayling, Firpo and Dallas, all ruled out with injuries while midfielder Bogusz is also expected to be missing. Striker, Bamford, may also miss out with a long-term injury.

The previous two meetings between Brighton and Leeds United have both resulted in draws and another draw could be on the cards in Saturday’s clash too.
