Manchester City come into the match on the back of a good 2-0 win at West Ham United last weekend. The match was expected to be a tough test for the defending champions on the first day of the season but they looked in complete control for much of the game.
Erling Haaland scored his first goal for the club in the 36th minute from the penalty spot and added a second in the 65th minute to seal maximum points.
The victory means the 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the Community Shield was put to bed quickly and Manchester City look ready for a title challenge again this season.

It was an important confidence boost for Bournemouth who suffered 3 straight defeats at the end of preseason. The losses came against Sporting Braga, Bristol City, and Real Sociedad.
