It’s still very early days in the domestic Polish top tier of football as this weekend brings in just the second round of matches in this season’s Ekstraklasa campaign.
This Saturday features this upcoming clash between Legia Warsaw and Zaglebie Lubin as the two sides clash at the Stadion Miejski Legii.

Legia Warsaw finished last season’s Polish top flight campaign in a comfortable mid-table position of 10th place.
But the hosts will no doubt be keen to push on this season and achieve a top half finish and perhaps challenge for a top four spot.
Results and form towards the end of last term though were pretty inconsistent as Legia Warsaw suffered a three-match losing streak to the likes of Piast Gliwice, Pogon Szczecin and Stal Mielec.
But the hosts recovered to finish their season on a high note by putting together a three-game unbeaten run which included wins against Gornik Zabrze and Cracovia in 5-3 and 3-0 victories respectively.
Legia Warsaw started the new season with a 1-1 draw away at Korona Kielce.
Zaglebie Lubin ended last season in the bottom half of the Ekstraklasa in 13th place although they did possess a useful six-point buffer ahead of the bottom three and the relegation zone so they too will be eager to improve upon last season’s finish this time around.
Zaglebie Zublin opened their account in last weekend’s opening fixtures of this new Ekstraklasa season with a point shared with Slask Wroclaw whom they drew 0-0 at home with at their Stadion Zagłębia Lubin.
Zaglebie also had to endure an indifferent run of results towards the end of last season’s campaign as the visitors picked up just five wins in their final 13 games of last term which included victories on the road at Nieciecza and Radomiak Radom, the latter being a particularly comprehensive 6-1 thrashing of their hosts!
However, with just two wins out of their last 13 outings on the road in the previous campaign, Zaglebie Lubin may be happy to pick up a point in this one.
Legia Warsaw have won each of the previous four encounters against their visitors, Zaglebie Lubin, but as it’s early days in this season, the two teams may have to settle for a point apiece here.
