Malmo will be looking to keep pace with the Allsvenskan frontrunners when they welcome Sirius to the Elada Stadion on Saturday afternoon.

As we head into Matchday 15 of the 2022 campaign, Malmo sit fifth in the table – one point outside the top three and four points behind first-place Hacken.

Meanwhile, Sirius find themselves eighth – six points behind Malmo. It is worth noting, however, that Sirius have a game in hand on Malmo.

Let’s start by looking at the hosts, Malmo, who have won four of their last five league games – keeping three clean sheets along the way.

Only the top two sides have picked up more wins than Malmo this season, while only two teams have conceded fewer goals.

When you look at the bigger picture, Malmo have only lost three of their previous 22 home games in the Swedish top tier.

That said, Malmo head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Zalgiris in UEFA Champions League qualification. Can they bounce straight back this weekend?

As for Sirius, they have only managed to win two of their past six Allsvenskan outings – recording two draws and two losses in the process.

Having conceded nine goals during that period, Sirius have the worst defensive record in the top 11. They are also the only team in the top ten with a negative goal difference.

Granted, Sirius have managed to score at least one goal in each of their previous eight league games – meaning they should hit the target on Saturday.

But due to their inability to keep the ball out of their own net, they could suffer a heavy defeat this weekend.

Head-to-head: Malmo are currently enjoying an 11-game unbeaten streak in this fixture, having claimed nine wins and two draws in that time.

On top of that, Malmo have won each of their last four games against Sirius – scoring a combined total of 16 goals (four goals per game).

Team news: Malmo are still without long-term absentee Adi Nalic as the midfielder continues to recover from a cruciate ligament rupture.

On the flip side, Sirius are injury-free. Their danger man is Christian Kouakou, who has netted six goals in 13 games across all competitions this season.

If the recent meetings between these two sides are anything to go by, Malmo should secure a high-scoring win on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Malmo will cruise to a comfortable victory on home soil, scoring over 2.5 goals on their way to claiming all three points.
