Goias are unbeaten in three straight matches versus Juventude ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash. The Big Green are 12th in the Serie A table ahead of this weekend’s fixture and are coming off of a surprise home 2-1 win over Athletico PR.
Juventude are stuck in the relegation zone currently. The Green and White are winless in six straight games ahead of this weekend’s round No. 17 clash with Goias. Juventude are coming off of a 2-2 draw with Cortiba.

Six points currently separate Juventude from safety in Serie A. The team is desperate for a win, but based on recent form versus Goias, a win may be difficult to come by.
Goias took seven points from the last 18 points on offer in Serie A. The Big Green were promoted from Serie B last season after finishing second in the league. Some will feel that Goias have overachieved by picking up 20 points from 16 matches thus far.
Forward Pedro Raul has been a revelation for Goias this season. The 25-year-old has eight goals in 14 appearances. Raul is on loan from Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol this season. Raul has scored two goals in his last three games for Goias.
Juventude picked up a pitiful two points from the last 18 points on offer in the division. They were outscored 11-5 across the last six matches.
As it stands, Juventude are Serie A’s worst home team with just five points from eight matches. The Green and White have conceded 14 times at home while scoring seven goals of their own. Each of Juventude’s last three home games ended as losses.
Paraguayan forward Oscar Ruiz leads Juventude in goals with three. The midfielder hasn’t scored in his last eight appearances for Juventude. He is out of form after getting his three goals early in the campaign.
A win for Goias and results going their way could take them up to eighth in the Serie A table. A victory for Juventude would keep them in 19th place. A loss to Goias could see Fortaleza move ahead of Juventude in the table.
Goias are coming off of a midweek Copa do Brazil last 16 loss to Atletico GO 3-0. The loss eliminated Goias from the cup tournament. Despite playing a relatively strong team, manager Jair Ventura will have his sights on a win this weekend at Juventude.
Goias should pick up an away win with the game ending 2-0. Raul could get on the scoresheet and stay hot for the visitors.
