Matchday 17 of the 2022 K League 1 campaign sees top-of-the-table Ulsan Hyundai travel to the South Korean capital to face FC Seoul at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Ulsan Hyundai find themselves seven points clear of second-place Jeju United after losing just two of their 16 league games this season.

Meanwhile, FC Seoul head into Wednesday’s clash in sixth place – 15 points behind Ulsan and 11 points clear of last-place Seongnam.

Seoul have managed to win just five of their 16 K League 1 games this term, registering six draws and five losses in the process.

Although five teams have scored more goals than Seoul’s 18, only four sides have conceded fewer than Seoul’s 16. Consequently, they boast one of the best goal differences in the division.

FC Seoul come into this encounter on a three-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, having secured two wins and one draw since their last loss.

Having lost just two of their previous 12 home games in the league, they will fancy their chances of frustrating high-flying Ulsan Hyundai on Wednesday.

That said, it is worth noting that Ulsan have only lost one of their past seven matches across all competitions – sealing five wins and one draw along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, Ulsan Hyundai have lost just six of their previous 44 K League 1 encounters.

Having netted a whopping 26 goals in 16 league outings this season (1.6 goals per game), Ulsan are the highest scorers in the South Korean top flight.

The league leaders also boast the second-best defensive record in the division after conceding just 13 goals this term.

Head-to-head: Remarkably, Ulsan Hyundai are enjoying a 13-game unbeaten streak against FC Seoul in the K League 1.

To make matters worse for Seoul, Ulsan have won seven of the past eight meetings between the teams – scoring over 1.5 goals on six occasions.

Team news: Seoul are currently without the injured duo of Yo-han Go (Achilles tendon rupture) and Dong-won Ji (thigh problems).

As for Ulsan, they remain injury free. Their main men Won-sang Um and Leonardo, who have both bagged ten goals and four assists in all competitions this year.

Given that first-place Ulsan lead sixth-place Seoul by 15 points, the visitors are expected to claim a comfortable victory on Wednesday.

Forebet predicts that Ulsan Hyundai will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to dispatching FC Seoul.
