Ukraine to Win Once More in the Nations League as Ireland’s Inconsistency Continues

Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland are looking to finish their 2021/22 seasons on a high note as they aim to finish top of this Nations League group with a win here just as the home side look to continue their perfect record.

As of now in the Nations League League B Group 1 division, Armenia are sitting bottom of the table with their worrying goals difference that puts them on -4 with only three points in the bag.

Scotland are ahead of them in the goals department, but are also on the same amount of points.

As for Ireland, they too are on three points with only one win and two defeats thus far, but worse yet, despite an excellent result against Scotland, they have played a game extra than Ukraine and Scotland, meaning they could crash down to bottom of the group if results go against them here.

They are, however, coming off the back of their best-ever result over Scotland, as they won 3-0 in Dublin in what was their first victory over the Tartan Army in 11 years. Alan Browne scored for Ireland that day before Troy Parrott continued to impress in the early stages of his career with a goal, just as Michael Obafemi netted to make it 3-0 inside 51 minutes at the Aviva Stadium.

On the other hand, besides this, it has been a truly atrocious start to their Nations League campaign, as Ireland lost 1-0 to both Ukraine and Armenia prior to the recent win against Scotland.

It continues on from a terrible World Cup qualifying campaign that saw them rack up just nine points in eight games and lose to the likes of Luxembourg.

As for Ukraine, they've already got a win against Ireland in this Nations League when Viktor Tsyhankov scored in a 1-0 victory in Dublin.

On the other hand, this international break has brought in a lot of heartache for the country, as they lost 1-0 to Wales in the World Cup qualifiers final in Cardiff just four days after running riot in a fantastic 3-1 win over Scotland at Hampden Park in the semi-finals.

They did also manage to beat Armenia in the Nations League too, and Forebet predicts a win for Ukraine here because despite Ireland’s recent famous victory, across the past year, they remain incredibly out of form and inconsistent. Forebet also expects the game to see under 2.5 goals.
