Two Bottom Half Sides to Register Another Draw in Canada as Wanderers and York United Clash

The Canadian Premier League gameweek eight sees arguably its biggest set of fixtures of the season so far with two sides down at the bottom set to battle as York United meet with HFX Wanderers at the Wanderers Ground in Halifax.

It's been a dismal few weeks for York United across the board, as they have now gone over a month since registering a win in normal time, as they beat Forge back in May thanks to a goal from Sebastian Gutierrez.

They did manage to get past Atletico Ottawa in the Canadian Championship on penalties, however, before they even beat the table-topping Pacific FC on penalties too as they now sit in the semi-finals of the Canadian Championship.

On the other hand, both games ended in a draw before the shootout, and combined with their losses to Valour and Cavalry, while also drawing once more with Pacific in the league, York have now gone five games without winning in normal time, while scoring only three goals and letting in five.

Martin Nash's men are now sixth in the Canadian Premier League, as they've won just twice all season long and conceded the same amount (6) as they have conceded, in what has been a torrid league season, despite their cup success.

Things are even worse for the Wanderers, however, but with them playing a game less than York United, they can set up a path to moving up the league should they win here and get points in their game in hand.

Now, however, they've let in 10 goals and also won just twice, which puts them with only eight points from seven fixtures early on in Canada.

Stephen Hart's men have also not won a game in the league in over a month too, as they smashed Edmonton 3-1 back in late April, before drawing with Valour and Cavalry. Wanderers were also smashed on home soil by Forge 4-0, in what is one of their worst results at home in recent seasons.

Moreover, they did manage to beat Guelph United 2-0 in the preliminary round of the Canadian Championship, however, a 2-1 loss to Toronto at home means their journey stopped at the quarter-finals.

Not much separates either of these sides this season and in the current league standings and Forebet now predicts a draw and for the game to see under 2.5 goals as their poor form looks set to continue.
