With the main European club season over, eyes turn to international football and the 2022/23 Nations League. On Thursday the 2nd of June we have a meeting between Serbia and Norway in Group 4 of League B and the match will be played at the Red Star Stadium, Belgrade. Sweden and Slovenia are the other two teams in the group.

Serbia come into the match on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Denmark in their most recent fixture. It was a friendly game, so they will not read too much into the loss and it followed quickly on the back of a 1-0 win in Hungary, which was also a friendly match.

Serbia enjoyed a tremendous World Cup qualifying campaign and finished above Portugal to top their group and qualify automatically for the finals.

Serbia beat Portugal away from home to clinch their place in Qatar, coming back from the concession of an early goal to score the winner in the 90th minute.

This will be a chance for the Serbia fans to celebrate their qualification to the World Cup and they were undefeated throughout their World Cup qualifying campaign.

There were wins at home over Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, and Azerbaijan. Home form in general shows Serbia are undefeated in their last 7 matches, including friendly games.

Trends show both teams have scored in 5 of Serbia’s last 6 home matches and there have been over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 on home soil.

Norway make the trip to the Red Star Stadium having previously beat Armenia 9-0 at home in a friendly game. Armenia were reduced to 10 men early in the second half and the flood gates opened shortly after the red card. That was the second successive win for Norway having also defeated Slovakia at home in a friendly game.

Norway are undefeated in 8 of their last 9 fixtures, including friendly matches. They were undefeated in 8 of their 10 World Cup qualifying matches, including wins at Latvia and Montenegro but it was not enough to reach the playoffs and they finished third in their group behind Netherlands and Turkey.

Recent away form shows Norway have not been easy to beat and they are undefeated in 5 of their last 6 on the road.Norway have scored at least 1 goal in those 5 undefeated encounters.

Team news and Serbia are without injured Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović. However, they can call upon the services of some talented players, including Matija Nastasić, Nikola Milenković, Dušan Tadić, Filip Kostić, Sergej Milinković-Savić, and Aleksandar Mitrović.

Norway can call upon their star man, Erling Haaland up front. Alexander Sørloth and Joshua King are competing for a place alongside Haaland in the Norway attack.

This should be an entertaining game to watch and we expect both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match. Norway are not an easy team to beat and this one could end level, with both teams taking a point.
