GD Chaves claimed an impressive 2-0 win in the first leg of the relegation playoff. The second division club won thanks to a goal from Joao Teixeira and Joao Correia. The goals came on either side of halftime.

Moreirense must now score three goals without conceding to overturn their deficit and retain their place in the Portuguese top flight. It will be a difficult task for Moreirense.
