On Sunday night, Mallorca travels to Pamplona to face Osasuna, in what will be a crucial game in the fight for survival in La Liga.
The home team could finish anywhere between 9th and 11th place in the Spanish top-flight season after a solid campaign. However, things could have been even better for Arrasate’s team, as they head into this encounter on the back of a five-game winless run in La Liga.

Last time out, Osasuna suffered a 2-0 defeat against Athletic Club. The game followed a low-scoring trend for Osasuna in La Liga, as their last four league matches have now all produced under 2.5 goals.
Osasuna has a mixed recent home record in the Spanish top-flight, as they have taken just a point from their last two league matches at El Sadar. However, they have also lost just once in five home matches in La Liga too.
It could not be any tighter at the bottom of La Liga when it comes to the fight for last day survival. Mallorca are currently in 17th place in the table but are only above 18th place Cadiz courtesy of superior goal head-to-head.
Javier Aguirre’s team recorded a 2-1 home win over Rayo Vallecano last time out in La Liga, which ended a three-game winless run in the Spanish top-flight for the visitors.
The victory could well be vital to their survival, although they still need to better Cadiz’s result this weekend. However, the Yellow Submarine are facing Alaves, which looks like a more favourable fixture.
Mallorca have also been travel sick of late, as they have failed to win in ten away games in La Liga while suffering nine defeats. A 0-0 draw at Sevilla in their last away game ended a nine-match away losing streak in the league for the Islanders.
Forebet predicts that Osasuna will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter to keep Mallorca’s La Liga status hanging in the balance on matchday 38.
