Watford are headed back to the Championship and just two matches remain in the Hornets’ nightmare Premier League campaign. Roy Hodgson was unable to turn around the Hornets’ season after arriving midseason.

The club has already hired Rb Edwards after he led Forest Green Rovers to League One promotion. Watford are focused on next season, but before that can happen, they will play Leicester City at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Leicester City ended a five-match winless streak with a 3-0 win over Norwich City last time out. The Foxes will have the chance to pick up three more points against an already relegated team this weekend. A win could move Leicester City into the top nine of the league’s standings.

Foxes dominated their last six games versus Watford. Leicester City posted a record of 4W-1D-1L across the last six encounters with the Hornets. Watford were outscored 14-6 in those six matches. Earlier this season, Leicester City posted a 4-1 win over Watford.

Success on Saturday does not bode well for Watford at home. Watford failed to win their last 12 home matches in the Premier League.

Although Leicester City have had plenty of success against Watford recently, they are in poor form heading into matchday 37. Just five points were taken from the last 18 points available to them. The Foxes were –1 in goal across the last six matches.

Watford collected a mere one point from the last 18 points on offer in the division. They were outscored to the tune of 13-3. Watford are coming off of a scoreless draw with Everton.

Hodgson could be without up to 10 players for the match at home versus Leicester City Hassane Kamara is suspended while Imran Louza is ruled out with an injury. Juraj Kucka is ruled out of the match with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, the likes of Ismaila Sarr, Emmanuel Dennis, Josh King, and Kiko Femenia are all unlikely to play due to their respective injury problems. Hodgson will have plenty of selection problems due to all of the injuries at Vicarage Road.

Watford have the worst home record in the league with 2W-2D-14L and a –25-goal difference. Leicester City should inflict another defeat on Watford 2-1.

Jamie Vardy scored twice against Norwich City last time out. The striker could get back on the scoresheet against a woeful Watford defence.

Vardy has 12 goals in 22 games in the league. He has been sidelined by injuries for much of the campaign.
