Real Betis to secure vital win over Granada

The Spanish top flight action continues on Sunday and features this upcoming clash between high-flying Real Betis and La Liga strugglers, Granada, when the two teams meet at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

With two matches remaining of their La Liga campaign, Real Betis still have an outside chance of achieving a possible top four finish as they trail 4th placed Sevilla by a five-point margin but they need Sevilla to slip up.

For their part of the deal, Real Betis must win both of these remaining two games starting with Granada on Sunday.

And the hosts will head into this encounter having recorded a resounding 3-0 win away at Valencia last time out in the Spanish top flight which will give them a timely boost for this fixture.

Onto Granada then, and the visitors have helped to ease their relegation worries by winning their last two games on the trot by collecting victories over Mallorca 6-2 and a 1-0 home win against Athletic Bilbao.

And these welcome wins have helped lift Granada up into the relative safety of 16th place.

More importantly, Granada now hold a four-point cushion above the bottom three which they may well need under their belts as they prepare for this tough looking trip to the Estadio Benito Villamarín to face Real Betis on Sunday.

However, Granada have managed to capture just three league wins out of their last 18 matches in the Spanish top flight.

And although two of these three victories were picked up on their travels, this sort of form certainly doesn’t bode well for this upcoming clash.

Nine of these 18 games ended in defeat for Granada as well, while on the road, the story doesn’t appear to get any better as the visitors have claimed just two wins out of their last 12 outings, so they look to have their work cut out here.

Anything other than a Real Betis win would be a surprise here.
