Roma coach Jose Mourinho achieved one of his targets for the season by leading the Giallorossi into a European cup final.

The Italian club won their second leg Europa Conference League semifinal versus Leicester City to qualify for the cup final versus Feyenoord later this month.

On Monday night, Roma will travel to Florence to play Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Roma are on a five-match winning streak in Serie A versus La Viola ahead of the fixture.

Fiorentina are chasing Roma for qualification to next season’s Europa League. The Giallorossi are fifth in the Serie A table with 59 points. Roma have no chance of finishing in the top four, but on Monday night, they can stay just ahead of city rival Lazio in fifth place.

La Viola are seventh in the Serie A table. Three points separate Fiorentina from Roma in the standings. A win would see Fiorentina pull level with Roma in the table. However, by the time these teams kick off, Lazio could be ahead of both clubs.

Roma took 11 points from the last 18 points on offer. Mourinho’s team scored eight goals and conceded five times across the last six games in the league.

Fiorentina are on a three-match losing streak. They are in awful form ahead of the fixture at home with Roma. Despite the bad patch, Fiorentina still picked up nine points from the last 18 available. La Viola lost the Coppa Italia semifinal to Juventus in April and since then, their leave form has wavered.

Roma have an excellent head-to-head record against Fiorentina in all competitions. The Giallorossi have a record of 6W-1D-3L versus Fiorentina across the teams’ last 10 games in all competitions.

In the reverse fixture, Roma won 3-1 at home. Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored in the 26th minute, just nine minutes after Fiorentina’s Bartlomiej Dragowski was sent off with a straight red card.

Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo was sent off for a second booking on 52 minutes, allowing Fiorentina back into the game. La Viola levelled the score on 60 minutes courtesy of Nikola Milenkovic. Jordan Vertout put Roma back into the lead four minutes later and on 79 minutes, Vertout scored once more.

The Giallorossi’s Serie A form has faltered in recent matches. However, the team’s Europa Conference League semifinal win over Leicester City should propel them to a win on Monday versus Fiorentina.

It should be a close game with Roma winning the game at the end of full-time.
