With just three rounds of games remaining in the Eredivisie, reigning champions Ajax head into their away game at AZ Alkmaar on Sunday afternoon four points clear at the top of the table.
The home team is currently in fifth place in the Dutch top-flight table and occupies a Europa Conference League spot.

AZ Alkmaar cannot fall further down the table than fifth, but mathematically they could still seal a spot in the Europa Conference League without a play-off.
However, they currently find themselves eight points behind third-place Feyenoord. The team from Rotterdam would need to lose all three of their remaining league matches and AZ would have to win all of theirs for Alkmaar to finish in the league’s top three this season.
AZ’s league form has been rather inconsistent of late in the Eredivisie, as they have won just two of their previous six league matches while losing just once in five league outings.
The reigning Dutch champions are a couple of games away from securing their third straight domestic title. Their four-point lead over second-place PSV Eindhoven should be enough to ensure that Erik ten Hag’s team retain their crown.
A 3-0 win over Zwolle last time out means that Ajax has now recorded seven straight league wins while scoring at least two goals in six of the seven victories.
Former Everton midfielder Davy Klassen has been in a rich vein of scoring form of late, as the 29-year-old has scored four goals in as many Eredivisie appearances.
Ajax has an impressive recent away record in the Dutch top-flight, as they have won nine of their last ten away games in the Eredivisie.
