Due to the persistence of Arsenal and Tottenham, Chelsea are not yet guaranteed a top-four finish as they prepare to host Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

With four games left, the Blues sit third in the Premier League table – three points clear of fourth-place Arsenal and five points ahead of fifth-place Spurs.

On the flip side, Wolves find themselves eighth – three points outside the European places and 17 points behind Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s men were beaten 1-0 by relegation-threatened Everton last weekend, meaning they have won just one of their last four Premier League games.

Despite racking up a whopping 79% possession and 17 shots at Goodison Park, Chelsea failed to find a way through.

Since the beginning of April, they Blues have only managed to pick up two victories in six Premier League outings – recording one draw and three losses along the way.

There is no denying that Chelsea have been the third-best team in England this term. However, they will need to finish strong in order to secure Champions League football for next season.

As for Wolves, they suffered their third straight defeat last time out – losing 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion on home soil.

The Wanderers have now lost three of their previous four outings, having also fallen to Leeds United, Newcastle United and Burnley recently.

When you look at the bigger picture, Bruno Lage’s boys have suffered eight defeats across their past 13 Premier League encounters.

There was a time earlier in the campaign when Wolves were viewed as top-four challengers. Now, they will be lucky to finish in the top seven.

Head-to-head: The last two Premier League meetings between Chelsea and Wolves ended in goalless draws.

Wolves are currently enjoying a three-game unbeaten streak against Chelsea, although the Blues have won 12 of the previous 18 games between the teams in all competitions.

Team news: Andreas Christensen, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley and Ben Chilwell are all currently unavailable for Chelsea.

Wolves head into Saturday’s clash without the injured trio of Daniel Podence, Max Kilman and Nelson Semedo.

Wolves have been diffiuclt to break down for the majority of the season, but Chelsea possess more than enough firepower to claim all three points on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea will score over 1.5 goals on their way to dispatching Wolves.
