Queens Park Rangers will take on Sheffield United at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this weekend with both sides gunning for a place in the play-offs ahead of the final few weeks of the campaign with all of the top six positions still up for grabs.
For QPR, their chances of getting into the top six this season are unlikely. Mathematically speaking, they certainly can make their way into the play-offs, but they will need every result in the top 10 to go in their favour, while they will also have to overturn an incredibly tough goal difference, which in itself is unlikely.
“You have to embrace these moments. They stay with you for the rest of your life. These are what you play football for.You play to be in the thick of it, you might never get another one. I want another one and I’m sure the boys will say the same.”- Ollie Norwood. ⚔️💪 pic.twitter.com/klBeMPZQ6B— Sheffield United (@SheffieldUnited) April 27, 2022

With this in mind, the aim for QPR within their past two games is merely to stay inside the top 10, rack up as many points as they can, and finish the season strongly in preparation for the next campaign as there are many things the club need to work on after falling out of the play-off ranks so dramatically.
In fact, it was only as early as February where they were competing for the top six, and sitting quite comfortably in doing so.
Mark Warburton is under pressure in these final two games of the season, and his men have only managed to win one game in their past eight games since beating Luton Town back in early March.
Moreover, considering this victory was against now-relegated Derby County, it is within itself barely even a statement.
Stoke City beat them last weekend too, and with them losing to Sheffield United already this month in their postponed game back on the 5th, confidence is very low heading into this game.
The R’s have also now conceded 56 goals and scored only 58 of their own, and it all but sums up their topsy-turvy season this campaign and their downfall in the past few months.
As for Sheffield United, they are back in the win column after beating Cardiff City 1-0 last weekend, and with other results going in their favour slightly, they are now in sixth and have fate in their hands to stay in the play-offs.
It also ended a run of three games without a win, as they drew 0-0 with Bournemouth, lost 2-1 to Reading, and drew 1-1 with Bristol City. They are now favoured to get into the play-offs in a few weeks.
Forebet predicts another win for the Blades too, and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
