Cadiz has impressed in defence in recent months, as they have now kept clean sheets in six of their previous nine matches in the Spanish top-flight, including in three of their last four league games.
Sergio’s team has been relatively hard to beat on home soil in La Liga of late, as a 2-1 defeat against Real Betis in their last home match in the Spanish top-flight ended a five-game unbeaten run on home soil.
The game against the Andalusians was also a rare high-scoring home game for Cadiz, as their previous four La Liga matches on home soil produced under 2.5 goals.
A recent inconsistent run of league form has seemingly scuppered Athletic Club’s chances of playing European football next season.
The boys from Bilbao currently sit in eighth place in La Liga, ten points adrift of local rivals Real Sociedad, who are in the last European qualification spot.
