Lazio to Get a Vital Win in Serie A as They Meet With Torino
    15/04/22 4021

Lazio will play hosts to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend with the Rome outfit looking to break into the top five after a solid run of form since their torrid defeat to rivals Roma just as Torino look to edge away at the top 10.

Maurizio Sarri's men have had a tough season all campaign long in Serie A as they have been as low as eighth at times in the league. At the same time, they were booted out of the Europa League after losing to Porto over two legs.

The loss in the Rome derby was a stunning one that rocked the club to the core, however, and it did give Lazio fans little hope of being able to get back into the European spots in the campaign.

On the other hand, that defeat was their only one within their past five games.

Sarri’s side have beaten Cagliari, Sassuolo, Genoa, and Venezia around that defeat to Roma, and in the process, scored a stunning 10 goals in the four games and let in only two. It puts them as one of the league's most in-form sides and with great hope they can get back into the top six.

Ciro Immobile once again stole the show last time out. The Italian netted his treble within 35 minutes against Genoa,as Adam Marusic also scored for the Rome outfit.

It does move them back into sixth in the table, and within a Europa Conference League spot. At the same time, they still trail their rivals Roma by two points.

There is a chance they can make their way into the top five still, and especially with Jose Mourinho’s men into the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, there will be a bit more hope Lazio can get one over on their rivals.

Torino are now into 11th with their win over Salernitana two weeks ago, which was their first win since way back in January when they beat Sampdoria away from home. The Turin side really have struggled against teams in the top half of the table this season, and they are yet to get a win over anyone in the top six.

It doesn’t make for good reading ahead of this one, and they are not expected to get a win here. In fact, they’ve registered only 10 wins all season.

Forebet predicts they will lose again here, in a game that sees under 2.5 goals.
