The French top flight action continues on Sunday afternoon when Troyes take on Strasbourg at their Stade de l’Aube with the hosts looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-1 defeat away at Monaco which ended their recent revival.
Prior to last week’s defeat against the principality club, Troyes had put together a promising run of five games without defeat in the French top flight which consisted of three wins and two draws.

Points picked up in stalemates with Marseille and St Etienne were boosted by victories over Bordeaux, Nantes and Reims and these results have also helped Troyes steer clear of trouble so far.
However, the bigger picture shows that Troyes have managed to record just four wins out of their last 15 matches overall and with the exception of Nantes, the other wins were against opposition sitting in the bottom half of Ligue 1.
Indeed, Troyes have managed to win just once against top five opposition so far this season although the hosts do bring a four-match unbeaten run on home soil into this upcoming fixture against Strasbourg.
Strasbourg moved up into 4th place on the Ligue 1 ladder after picking up a point in a 1-1 draw with mid-table Lyon last weekend and this result extended the visitors’ unbeaten run in the French top flight to nine games overall.
Strasbourg have made slow but steady progress up the Ligue 1 table this season and only four points separate them from 3rd placed Rennes and a possible Champions League qualifier berth, so the away side should have plenty of incentive to keep this promising run of results going at the Stade de l’Aube.
This recent run of form has been underpinned by a solid and stubborn defensive unit which has kept six clean sheets within these last nine games while results away from home have also benefitted from Strasbourg’s defiance in defeat on the road.
Away from home, Strasbourg have lost just once in their last 10 games on their travels whilst also picking up four wins in the process; victories at Nice, Metz, Clermont and Angers should stand them in good stead here.
Strasbourg have lost just two of their last 10 meetings against Troyes and the visitors look in good shape to add to their points tally in this encounter as well.
