Wigan Athletic will look to stay top of the League One table when they travel to the Pirelli Stadium where a Burton Albion side who have slipped deeper into the bottom half of the table awaits them.

Wigan have moved to the top of the table in recent weeks following on from Rotherham United's collapse and the Latics playing their games in hand.

Rotherham now sit third, and with the Greater Manchester side the league leaders by six points over them, they've become the clear favorites to win the title.

MK Dons are still within a shout, but they trail the top by three points and have played two more games, meaning Leam Richardson's men could extend this lead in next to no time.

Wigan are also in sensational form right now, as they have won two in a row by beating Accrington Stanley 3-0, before defeating Lincoln City 3-1.

This has also extended the club's unbeaten run in the third tier to eight games, as their only dropped points have come in 1-1 draws with Bolton Wanderers and MK Dons since late February.

The six goals in two games for Wigan also mean they've netted 73 times in their 40 outings in League One - this is now just three behind that of Oxford United's 76 goals scored.

As for Burton, they remain in dire straits in League One, but with a 13-point gap on the bottom three, they are set to be safe for another year at least. However, following on from a goalless draw with Plymouth Argyle, they've moved down into 17th and now sit 12 points behind the top half.

Burton's recent draw also saw them fail to win for the third game in a row while also not scoring, as they've now let in 17 goals in their past six games since the start of March and scored just five of their own.

At the same time, the club's 3-2 win over Fleetwood Town three games back remains their only within the past two months and just one of their four victories all season long in League One.

This is also a game in hand for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side, and ahead of meeting top sides like Rotherham, they must win here if they are to challenge towards the top end of the bottom 12 from now until the end of the campaign.

Forebet predicts the game to see over 2.5 goals and for Wigan to get the win.
