A five-game run without a league win has scuppered any chance of the team from the English south coast landing a play-off spot this season.
A 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham last time out means that Portsmouth’s last five league matches have all produced under 2.5 goals.
Pompey’s recent home form has been good though, as Danny Cowley’s team is unbeaten in six League One matches at Fratton Park, having recorded four wins in the process.
Portsmouth have been prolific on home soil of late in League One, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six home matches in the English third tier.
While Portsmouth now looks out of the race for the play-offs, Rotherham would move into the automatic promotion spots with a victory on the south coast.
The Millers are currently third-place in the table, three points behind second-placed MK Dons, who have played two more games than the Yorkshire outfit.
Despite their healthy league position, Rotherham head into this game on the back of just one win in their last six matches in League One. A 1-0 home defeat against Charlton means that they have suffered back-to-back league defeats without scoring.
Despite their recent underwhelming recent league form, Paul Warne’s team are unbeaten in seven away games in League One, having recorded five wins in the process. The visitors have also kept seven straight clean sheets on their travels in the league.
Forebet predicts that Rotherham will boost their hopes of winning automatic promotion by recording a victory in a low-scoring encounter.
