Lazio and Sassuolo meet on Saturday afternoon at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, as the home team attempts to climb back into the European spots in Serie A.
Maurizio Sarri’s team are currently in seventh place in Serie A, two points adrift of city rivals Roma, who currently occupy the last European spot in the Italian top flight.
The Biancocelesti heads into this game on the back of a 3-0 mauling at rivals Roma last time out in Serie A. The defeat ended a two-game winning run for the Eagles in the Italian top-flight.
They had also previously kept two straight clean sheets in Serie A before the defeat against their bitter rivals.
Lazio’s usually strong home form has been slightly more inconsistent of late in Serie A, as they have won just three of their last eight home games in the Italian top flight. However, Sarri’s team has managed three clean sheets in their last four league outings on home soil.
Sassuolo are ninth place in the Serie A table, six points behind their hosts in the league table after a stellar recent run of league form. The visitors are unbeaten in six matches in the Italian top-flight, having recorded four wins in the process.
One of the main factors in the recent good league form has been their potent attacking play, as Sassuolo have now scored at least two goals in all six unbeaten games.
Young forward Gianluca Scamacca has been in particularly good form scoring four times in his last five Serie A appearances. However, fellow forward Domenico Berardi can match the youngster's goal tally in just his last three appearances in the Italian top flight.
Sassuolo have a decent recent record against Lazio, having won three of the last four meetings with the Eagles.
Forebet predicts that the visitors won’t quite leave the capital with a win, but will pick up a point from a high-scoring encounter.
