Granada host Rayo Vallecano on Sunday in a massive six pointer between two clubs trying to avoid relegation. Los Rojiblancos are 16th in the La Liga table ahead of the match, while Rayo Vallecano sit 13th in the standings.

The Red Sashes have taken 32 points from 28 games in La Liga. Granada, on the other hand, have picked up 28 points from 29 games this term. Four points separate these two sides ahead of Sunday.

As it stands, 18th-place Mallorca are on 26 points. A win for Mallorca and Granada loss or draw with Rayo Vallecano could see Los Rojiblancos move into the bottom three once more.

Rayo Vallecano won 4-0 against Granada earlier this season. Alvaro Garcia, Oscar Trejo, Randy Nteka, and Santi Comesana scored the goals for the Red Sashes.

The win for Rayo Vallecano came back in August. It is easy to forget that during the early stages of the season, Rayo Vallecano were one of La Liga’s top sides. Rayo Vallecano flirted with the top four at the time and since then, have fallen hard down the standings.

Rayo Vallecano go into the weekend second from bottom in the current form table. The Red Sashes took one point from the last 18 points available in the league. They scored just two goals and conceded 10 times.

Granada are in similar poor form. They took four points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. Granada were outscored 12-5 in their last six matches in La Liga.

Los Rojiblancos are La Liga’s third-worst home team with 16 points from 14 games. Rayo Vallecano are La Liga’s worst away team with a mere five points from 13 road games. Their last five away games all ended in defeat.

Rayo Vallecano will be without Oscar Trejo for the game due to a suspension. Trejo scored a spot-kick against Granada in the reverse fixture.

Forward Radamel Falcao is a doubt with a muscle injury. Ariel Savelijch has a hamstring injury and is a doubt to play. Martin Merquelanz is also a doubt following a sprained knee.

Granada will be without goalkeeper Aaron Escandell due to suspension. Joining him on the sidelines will be defender Carlos Neva due to an Achilles injury. Angel Montoro, Maxime Gonalons, and Santiago Arias are all three doubts to play.

Rayo Vallecano are awful on the road this season. Their poor road form should enable Granada to pick up a much-needed home win with a score of 1-0.
