Whilst other nations are competing for a place in the upcoming World Cup finals in Qatar, Tuesday evening brings us action from the Nations League between Cyprus and Estonia, in a League C relegation play-off for the right to remain in this league for the next Nations League season.
Cyprus have really struggled for results for some time on the international stage as the hosts have managed to register just one win out of their last 14 international matches overall, and just two victories in their previous 24 games in all competitions.

Therefore, the prospects of a home win here do seem fairly remote especially as Cyprus have won just two of their last 13 games on home soil and failing to score in seven of these matches too.
Estonia finished bottom of Group 2 in League C and therefore will have to play Cyprus in this relegation play-off final which finished 0-0 in the 1st leg at their Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.
And although the visitors have also struggled of late, winning just one of their last eight games overall, the bigger picture looks a little more promising for Estonia.
The visitors have picked up four wins out of their last 11 matches in all international competitions, beating the likes of Lithuania, Finland, Latvia and Belarus.
So they perhaps look to hold a slender edge over their hosts ahead of this return leg in Larnaca.
Victories in their outings on the road have been a little sparse though as Estonia have managed to win just twice in their previous 15 games on their travels whilst also failing to score in 10 of these games as well, which also doesn’t appear to bode too well for an away win here for Estonia.
A low-scoring draw perhaps looks the most likely outcome in a game that neither nation can afford to lose.
Indeed, four of the previous five meetings between Cyprus and Estonia have ended in a draw and another stalemate could well be on the cards again in this Tuesday evening’s play-off clash as well.
