On Monday night, Modena will be looking to extend their lead at the summit of Serie C Group B when they host Ancona at the Stadio Alberto Braglia.

As we head into the business end of the season, Modena find themselves five points clear of second-place Reggiana in the table.

Meanwhile, Ancona are sixth – three points ahead of seventh-place Gubbio and 28 points behind Modena.

Modena have lost just three of their 33 Serie C games this season, picking up 24 wins and six draws along the way.

Not only have Modena racked up the most wins in the league (24), but they have also registered the fewest draws (6).

It is also worth noting that Modena are the second-highest scorers in Group B, with 59 goals to their name.

On top of that, Modena boast the second-best defensive record – having conceded just 22 goals this term.

Modena have lost just one of their previous 21 games across all competitions and head into Monday’s clash on the back of a 3-0 win over Vis Pesaro.

On the flip side, Ancona have recorded 14 victories, eight draws and 11 defeats in the Serie C this season.

Although only three sides have scored more goals than Ancona this term, they have the worst defensive record in the top seven.

Ancona have only managed to win one of their previous five league games, registering two draws and two losses in the process.

Still, they can take confidence from the fact that they beat Carrarese 2-0 last time out – despite having a man sent off early in the second half.

Head-to-head: Modena have won three of their past four meetings with Ancona across all competitions, keeping two clean sheets along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, Ancona have only managed to win three of their previous 11 matches against Modena.

Team news: Modena will be without injured striker Alessandro Marotta on Monday as he continues to recover from foot surgery.

As for Ancona, they currently have Filippo Berardi (cruciate ligament rupture) and Lorenzo Canullo (broken wrist) sidelined through injury.

Given that Modena are on course to finish atop Serie C Group B, they shouldn’t struggle to get the better of Ancona.

Forebet predicts that Modena will keep a clean sheet on their way to securing a low-scoring victory on Monday.
