13th placed Reims face a difficult upcoming fixture on Sunday afternoon against high-flying 5th placed Strasbourg despite holding supposed home advantage at their Stade Auguste-Delaune II.
The hosts have produced indifferent form throughout the whole of this season’s Ligue 1 campaign to date.

League wins have been sporadic at best for Reims so far this term in the French top flight and the hosts head into this upcoming encounter having registered just two wins out of their last eight matches overall.
Victories over Bordeaux and Monaco have been overshadowed by three defeats during this recent period of results which have seen Reims stumble to losses against Metz, PSG and Nantes and, along with stalemates shared against Marseille, Clermont and rest, these results have prevented Reims from lifting themselves further up the table.
Form on home soil has also been indifferent as Reims have won, drawn and lost in equal measure this season.
While the bigger picture shows that Reims have achieved just four wins out of their last 21 games.
Sunday afternoon’s visitors, Strasbourg, have produced some important wins in recent times in the French top flight as the visitors have claimed vital wins against Montpellier, Nantes and Angers in the past few games to maintain their push for a possible top five finish - or better.
Indeed, Strasbourg have suffered just the two losses in their last 15 matches overall in the domestic top flight and it’s been this impressive and sustained sequence of positive results that have seen Strasbourg emerge as potential candidates for a spot in one of next season’s European competitions.
Having won eight out of these previous 15 games, Strasbourg seem to possess the greater ability to carve out results and in particular and most important of all, wins. This may well have a bearing on the outcome of this Sunday’s clash at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II as well.
In addition, Strasbourg have lost just once in their last eight games on their travels whilst also picking up wins on the road at Nice, Metz, Clermont and Angers and the visitors have only lost four away matches all season.
Three of Strasbourg’s four defeats away from home were against top half opposition but the visitors know they have a good opportunity to add to their points tally at Reims this Sunday.
