Juventus are coming off of a 1-1 draw with Villarreal in Spain the Champions League last 16 first leg in midweek. The Bianconeri scored early but allowed Villarreal to equalise and by the end of the 90 minutes, Juventus were holding on for the draw.
Empoli are 12th in the Serie A table ahead of the weekend fixture. The Azzurri are winless in their last matches in Serie A. Empoli are currently nine points above the relegation zone in Serie A.
The Azzurri shocked Juventus earlier this season in Turin. Empoli scored a 21st minute goal through Leonardo Mancuso as they held firm for the remaining 75 minutes plus to win. It was a famous victory for Empoli, but Juventus are a far different team now than they were earlier this campaign.
Juventus go into the match on Saturday in strong form. The Bianconeri took 12 points from 18 points possible. They outscored their last six opponents 10-5.
Empoli are at the bottom of Serie A’s current form table. The Azzurri picked up just three points from the last 18 points available in Serie A. They were outscored 13-5 across the last six games in the division.
The Azzurri are winless at home in their last four games. This season, Empoli are –14 in goal difference at home. Juventus, on the other hand, are unbeaten in six straight away games in Serie A. They are +7 in goals on the road.
Empoli coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has just one player on the injured list going into the match on Saturday at home. Defender Riccardo Marchizza is ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.
In comparison, Allegri has a laundry list of injuries. Forward Kaio Jorge, midfielder Weston McKennie, forward Paulo Dybala, defender Koni de Winter, and forward Federico Chiesa are all ruled out of action.
Allegri could have Giorgio Chiellini back from injury along with defender Daniele Rugani. Forward Federico Bernadeschi could return for the game.
Empoli are winless in nine straight Serie A games and Juventus will add to their issues this weekend. Juventus will claim a win and enjoy scoring goals. Dusan Vlahovic could have a field day as Juventus score over 2.5 goals versus Empoli.
