The French top flight action continues on Sunday and features this upcoming clash between Ligue 1 strugglers, St Etienne, and high-flying Strasbourg at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard with the hosts seeking a fourth league win on the trot.
Sunday’s hosts, St Etienne, have boosted their chances of avoiding relegation in recent weeks as the home side have captured three wins on the trot which has helped them out of the relegation zone and they now occupy the relegation play-off spot.

Having registered wins against Angers, Montpellier and Clermont in recent times though, St Etienne may well fancy their chances of escaping relegation altogether.
They’ll be hoping they can continue and build upon the recent momentum that they’ve produced in the past few games here on Sunday afternoon.
Home wins have been hard to come by though for St Etienne as they’ve managed just two wins out of their last 13 games on home soil at their Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and includes seven defeats as well.
St Etienne will be without Crivelli, Gnagnon and Sako through injury.
Strasbourg will also feel confident about their chances of gaining a result here on Sunday afternoon as the visitors have suffered just the two losses in their last 13 matches overall in the French top flight, and it’s this kind of form which has helped lift Strasbourg up into the upper echelons of Ligue 1 and into 4th spot ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
The visitors are also chasing a possible Champions League spot for next season too, and having won seven of their last nine games overall, Strasbourg will be brimming with confidence prior to this trip to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
Strasbourg have also lost just one of their previous seven games on the road in Ligue 1 as well, so this makes the visitors a serious threat to St Etienne’s recently re-discovered form, after having recorded wins at Nice, Metz, Clermont and Angers.
These recent four wins on the road also saw Strasbourg keep clean sheets as well, while previous results against St Etienne have also seen Strasbourg hold the upper hand in previous exchanges between the two sides.
