On Thursday night, the Europa Conference League returns with the round of 32. One of the ties that could be highly interesting is Premier League Leicester facing Danish outfit Randers. The first leg takes place on Thursday night at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester have endured an underwhelming campaign, punctuated by injury problems and their star players struggling to hit the same heights as in previous seasons.

Brendan Rodgers team are in midtable in the Premier League and have already suffered an exit from the Europa League this season. They will be keen not to suffer the same fate in the Europa League’s slightly less high-profile sister competition.

The Foxes head into this clash on the back of a five-game winless run in all competitions. A leaky defence has been a familiar trend for the men from the Midlands this season.

Their defensive problems have raised their ugly head in their recent winless run too, as the Foxes have conceded at least two goals in four of those five matches without a victory.

The fact that the likes of Wesley Fofana, Timothy Castagne, Ryan Bertrand and Jonny Evans are all out injured has had a massive effect on Leicester’s defensive displays.

Randers head into this clash on the back of the Danish Superliga’s winter break. In fact, the visitors have not played a competitive game since the middle of December.

They have recently played several friendly matches designed to get the players fit for a return to action in this clash and also the Superliga, which returns this weekend.

Like the home team, Randers suffered elimination from the Europa League. However, the Danish team didn’t even make it to the group stages of the competition, suffering elimination at the hands of Galatasaray in the play-off round.

Their record in the Conference League is a mixed one, although the visitors won just one of their six group games in this season’s competition.

Forebet predicts that the injury-hit Foxes will sneak a narrow lead to take into next week’s second leg of the tie in Denmark.
